Author's Tea
On this almost last day of school (can't believe it), Will's teacher, Mrs. Cesarec, invited all of the parents to watch their little authors read some original writing in front of the whole class. Each child was supposed to take a turn reading what they love about their mom/ dad and then they would go through again and read the other side of their paper (again mom or dad). Will's teacher went through the whole class, except for Will the first time. I was sitting close to Will so when Mrs. C asked if everyone had gone, I whispered to him to let her know she had skipped him. Never wanting to bring attention to himself, Will did not speak up and waited until everyone had already read both of their pages. It was so much fun to hear the class read. We are so proud of Will's progress this year (he is reading at a second grade level) and when he finally made it up in front of the class, he did a wonderful job!
