A parade, some fireworks and a whole lotta hot!

Our annual Fun Before the Fourth parade was a little different this year since Will and Mark were able to march for Little League baseball.  It sure was a steamy one---humid and about 90 degrees.  Grandma and Grandpa Kons and Lari and Declan were able to join us to cheer on Will and celebrate America!

Here they come!

After the parade, we headed home so we could eat lunch,  Mark could work (quarter close), and the boys could take a much needed nap so we could attend the fireworks that night.  THis was the boys first time seeing fireworks and they had a blast.  Instead of fighting the crowds and having to park several blocks away in Fireman's Park, we sat in the highschool parking lot along with about 75 other people.  Nora stayed home with my mom and the boys ran around and played with their friends until the show began (although it didn't start until about 9:45 pm).  Will oohed and ahhed with every explosion and he kept yelling "whoa, that one was in 3D."  Drew loved it too but after about 10 minutes he kept asking if it was over.  All in all, I am glad we did it, we now know the boys can handle it and we look forward to many years of celebrating America with an awesome fireworks display, almost in our "backyard!"
Waiting for the fireworks
Will's buddy, Andrew, and his family met up with us.  Best way to watch the show was laying on the blanket!
