It is hard to believe that Will is 9 months old today. I think I say that every month but it really is hard to believe. Almost a year has gone by and it feels like he was born only a few months ago.
Will is doing very well. He is doing so many new things and all in the past few days. He is getting much better at pulling himself to a standing position from his tummy (mommy and daddy's legs are needed for this though) and he loves to "walk" around the house. He is even doing a little cruising lately, albeit very slowly, around the coffee table. This morning he got up on all fours from a sitting position. Mark and I have been lucky in the baby-proofing department-we have not had to anything, but I think that will be changing in the next few weeks (yikes).
Will does a lot of babbling, saying dada, baba, the rare mama (sniff), and just general spitting in attempts to make a word. He is eating more tablefoods now and as the previous post stated, he now has 8 teeth. He loves to clap and roll the ball back and forth with Mommy and Daddy.
Will's current stats are:
Weight: 24 lbs. 2 oz. (90th percentile)
Height: 30 inches (95th percentile)
Head: 47 cm (90th percentile)
Yes, our boy is big but I think that since he is now moving around much more that may change. OR not, which is fine with us-we love our little chubby-cheeked moose.
The disconcerting part of Will's appointment was that the doctor told us he heard a heart murmur and that he is concerned enough about it to need to be checked out by a cardiologist. The fear is that Will may have a tiny hole in his heart that is causing it to work extra hard and is not allowing enough good oxygen to come back into the heart. After a lot of crying in the doctor's office he reassured us that most of these things correct themselves and even if he had a small hole it may be too small to even worry about and he would still have a perfectly normal life. The bigger fear of course is that it may be serious . We are praying that is not the case and we hope that we can count on some extra prayers from everyone out there. We will know more when we meet with a cardiologist (which is yet to be determined) but we will let everyone know. It sounds more serious than it probably is and it could even be nothing (as the doctor reassuringly told us) but Mark and I are still a little freaked out. Okay very freaked out and trying to keep it together.
Will is still the joy of our lives and we cannot wait to celebrate his first Christmas. He loves playing with wrapping paper and I am sure that Santa will bring lots of new things. Will has been a very good boy(:
